Astrology Weather: Seeds of Change and Renewal
Navigating the Taurus New Moon, Venus Shifts, and Pluto's Deep Transformation
Hello, astrology and tarot friends! Today is Monday, April 28, 2025. We just had a New Moon at seven degrees of Taurus yesterday, on April 27. Taurus is a beautiful energy — grounded, sensual, connected to nature, and appreciative of a good meal and beautiful surroundings. It's a very pleasurable, Earth-based energy. However, this New Moon was at the focal point of a T-square with the Mars-Pluto opposition, which I mentioned in my last post. That could have brought up some power struggles or feelings of tension and anxiety. On the positive side, it could also have brought willpower and a drive to push through challenges.
It’s been a tough time over the last few months, with Mars retrograde for so long in the water sign of Cancer, then Venus going retrograde in Aries and then Pisces, and Mercury also retrograding through Aries and Pisces. We’ve been dealing with heavy energies. In mid-April, we had the Sun conjunct Chiron, Saturn conjunct the North Node, and Venus conjunct Saturn in Pisces. In particular, Venus-Saturn aspects can bring tests in relationships, feelings of loneliness, or a sense of duty and burden being front and center. There may have been a fear of reaching out or a sense of isolation. However, on the flip side, this energy also strengthens true commitment — whether it’s to a relationship, a creative endeavor, or a meaningful goal. It's a time when perseverance and dedication can really pay off.
Things are starting to lighten up. Venus is moving out of the clutches of Saturn, and by April 30, it will enter zero degrees of Aries — a completely different energy. Aries is fire: determined, willful, assertive, and goal-oriented. It's the "I Am" principle of the zodiac. This fiery energy is a big shift from the romantic, dreamy, sensitive water of Pisces. However, on May 2, Venus will conjoin Neptune at one degree of Aries — another Venus-Neptune conjunction, but this time in Aries. We just had a Venus-Neptune conjunction in Pisces on February 1, 2025, but Neptune hasn’t been in Aries in our lifetimes until now. Venus represents love, beauty, creativity, and financial matters, while Neptune adds sensitivity, compassion, inspiration — but also sometimes illusions and escapism. In Aries, however, I believe this conjunction will be very positive: inspired, daring, and fueled by self-directed fire energy. It’s a wonderful time to courageously pursue something you feel passionate about.
Meanwhile, the Mars-Pluto opposition is still active for a few more days. Mars is about will and desire, Pluto is about power and control, and they’ve been opposing each other across the fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius. This dynamic is stubborn but it’s starting to wane. One other major astrological event to watch for: Pluto will station retrograde at three degrees of Aquarius on May 4, 2025. Pluto represents deep transformation, shadow work, and regeneration. If Pluto’s station happens near a major point in your birth chart — such as the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, or IC — or if it aspects a personal planet, you will feel it more strongly. You can check your chart for free at astro.com by entering your birth information. For example, in my own chart, Pluto is stationing right on my Descendant, my relationship axis. For others, it could fall on their identity, career, or home/family axis, depending on their house placements.
In general, though Pluto’s energy remains in Aquarius, things will begin to feel lighter. Saturn will soon move into Aries at the end of May (briefly retrograding back into Pisces), and Neptune will also briefly return to Pisces before moving into Aries for the long term. By mid to late February 2026, we will fully experience the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at zero degrees of Aries, marking a major turning point — but more on that later. For now, I hope you have a wonderful week. Enjoy the seeds you’ve planted under this Taurus New Moon, and know that lighter, brighter energies are on the way!
