A major astrological cycle began on March 10, 2003 when the planet Uranus departed the intellectual air sign of Aquarius and entered the watery realm of Pisces.  This is a radical shift as air is the antithesis of water.  Air represents communication, logic, factual information and global networking.  Water, on the other hand, is concerned with feelings, inner reflection, compassion and spirituality.  Uranus spends seven years in each zodiac sign during its 84 year cycle heralding major change and individuation.   Upon reflection over the last seven years we can clearly see the manifestation of Aquarian change...explosion of the information age, revolutions in communications and science, global expansion of the internet and email, advances in cellular and digital technologies, mapping of the human genome, cloning a sheep and visiting the surface of Mars.  We have also witnessed the negative polarity of this time period with increases in autoimmune diseases, aids running rampant in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, global warming and human rights agitation and terrorism.

What groundbreaking developments can we expect to occur over the next seven years from March 2003 until 2010 while Uranus transits through the artistic and intuitive sign of Pisces?  We can first take a look at what happened the last time this cycle occurred between the years of 1920 and 1927.  This period experienced the roaring 20's and liberation from the restrictive constraints of the Victorian era.  Photography (Pisces) then became motion pictures (Pisces), which started a new industry in Hollywood.  Prohibition was introduced (Pisces) which precipitated a sharp increase in organized crime.  Many individuals experimented with alcohol, gambling, religions and music (all Pisces ruled).  Television was invented in the 1920s as well..."The American Dream" (Pisces) was born!

Now 84 years later in the year of 2003, we can expect major changes, inspiration and rebellion in all areas ruled by Pisces.  The possibilities are many...greater explorations of subtle energies, altered states, dreams and meditation, innovations in all psychic and intuitive functions such as telepathy, parapsychology and telekinesis, advances in vibrational medicine (flower essences, color, sound, homeopathy, acupuncture, reflexology and psychic healing) along with advances in the psycho-spiritual link to physical disease, increased interest in extraterrestrial contact, life after death and channeling, creative innovations in art, music and film with advances in virtual reality at the movies or a new wave of music sweeping the globe, new developments in media which will reflect a new wave of spiritual values, advances in marine and oceanographic sciences, and the emergence of new religions or religious groups along with the rise and fall of spiritual leaders.  Negatively, we will be concerned with increased changes in the oceanic environment such as sea levels rising and ice bergs breaking away from polar regions, increased droughts, floods, temperature extremes, pollution and/or earthquakes, increased whale beachings’ as oceans continue to be depleted of oxygen (Pisces rules all bodies of water) and the continued threat of biochemical warfare (Pisces).   Remember, Pisces is the final step in a 12-fold process, which seeks to transcend ordinary reality and connect with the divine.  Collectively, we will experience a shift from a logical, left brain mentality to a more refined and sensitive vibration...in short...a spiritual revolution.

This is a critical time in our history where all of us must do our part, however small, to manifest the spiritual in the physical world.  When Uranus enters zero degrees of Pisces it will form a mutual reception aspect to Neptune (each will be in the sign that the other rules), which is a powerful alliance of outer planetary energies offering us the opportunity to help mother earth.  These mutual reception periods (which lasts for years) in our history have had a major impact on our planet for better and worse (the choice is ours).  Mother earth needs a new "dream" to sustain itself and its inhabitants.  Our collective consumerism is being called upon to incorporate Piscean values.
