The planet MERCURY, astrologically speaking,
presides over our consumer driven, communications society. IT RULES
COMMUNICATION, TRANSPORTATION AND ALL THE “STUFF” OF TECHNOLOGY.
It is associated with mental and linguistic activities of learning, thinking,
writing, analyzing, concentrating and communicating. Mercury rules the
intellectual and discerning zodiac signs of Gemini and Virgo. It rules
over anything that links two or more things together. It is the ruling planet
of telephones, computers, newspapers, airplanes, news broadcasts, magazines,
books and fax machines and so on. In the natural wheel of the birth
chart, Mercury also symbolizes siblings, early education and one’s neighborhood. MERCURY STATIONS
RETROGRADE 3-4 TIMES PER YEAR FOR THREE WEEKS. When Mercury is direct,
the collective communication pulse streams outward. When it is
