September 2009 was quite a month for many of us,
myself included! As I write these words, I am wiping the
sweat off my brow and breathing a huge sigh of relief! Mercury, the
cosmic messenger, is finally direct after it's
retrograde (review) cycle during most of September. The inward directed
pulse of thought and communication is once again streaming outward after a
thoughtful phase of reflection and review. Clarity of mind lends
support to all goals and decisions after a brief period of confusion or
delay. Watch for THE
FULL MOON ON OCTOBER 4 AT 2:11 AM (EDT) AT 11 DEGREES OF ARIES.
Aries is fire energy- willful and energetic with a warrior spirit. Full
Moons are wonderful times for release work and healing. Confidence and
a pioneering spirit help us release that which we no longer need to thrive
and move fearlessly forward in life. The Mercury-Uranus opposition
today (in effect all week) suggests radical opinions and/or enlightening
conversations which may stir up some intense debate. Communication
matters are more serious, focused and deliberate with Mercury direct conjoin
Saturn in Virgo on October 7-8. The Virgo emphasis suggests scrutiny
and exacting analysis of the finer details. The potential is wise
discernment and the default is pessimistic thinking focused on
limitations. Apply discipline and responsibility to thinking healthy
and life affirming thoughts! With Venus in Virgo oppose Uranus in Pisces on
October 9, expect sudden surprises, revelations or unusual connections to
occur, as matters related to love and desire are activated with excitement
and/or dispute. These surprises may spark intense thought with
Mercury square Pluto, following on October 10. Thoughts and
conversation are aligned with power and/or tension. Intense or
obsessive thinking may revolve around research, investments, investigation,
corruption and psychology. Go with the flow as best you can and don't
push the envelope until the tension resolves. Channel mind power into

Jupiter represents our urge to expand, grow, improve and advance. It is
symbolic of joyful optimism, prosperity and abundance. On October 13-15, Venus conjoins Saturn at 28
degrees of Virgo, in a close square aspect to change agent Pluto. We
are being asked to align our values, creative urges and relationship issues
with discipline and serious commitment. If something is not working,
this is an excellent time to discern and tackle problematic concerns as the
square to Pluto demands nothing less than change, release and transformation
of the status quo. There is a NEW
MOON ON OCTOBER 18 AT 1:34 AM (EDT) AT 25 LIBRA. Libra symbolizes
diplomacy, justice, peace and harmony and relationship. Plant seeds of
peace and love and watch them grow. This new Moon harmoniously trines
Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius, suggesting a great deal of social
harmony at the moment and soulful inspiration. This New Moon also
widely squares action oriented Mars, inciting assertiveness on behalf of
peaceful resolutions. During the last week of October (exact October
28-29), the Sun in Scorpio will square Mars in Leo - a fixed aspect of
willful action and unstoppable willpower. The default is defensiveness
and stubborn pride. Breathe first, act later
is a good mantra this week as impulsive and temperamental moods may
arise. Remember the peaceful warrior archetype and strive for peace no
matter what is happening around you. Last but not least, SATURN LEAVES VIRGO AND ENTERS Saturn entering 0 degrees of Libra marks
the early stages of a powerful T square alignment between Saturn,
Pluto and Uranus which is a harbinger of resistance in confrontation
with a cosmic calling for intense reform. Saturn changes signs
every two and one half years. It's transit
through Virgo over the last few years focused on applying discipline and
karmic responsibility to all Virgo related issues and concerns. Now, the
focus shifts to all Libra ruled matters such as relationships, law,
litigation, mediation, diplomacy and the arts. Saturn brings us soul
tests of responsibility - Tests of our maturity, which facilitates a reality
checks and balances on those areas of our lives which we may have
neglected, procrastinated or avoided for whatever reasons. If some of our Libra ruled affairs have faulty
cracks, Saturn will demand repair and reconstruction with a scrutinizing
focus on stability. Apply patience and discipline as taskmaster
Saturn rewards those who work with diligence
and determination. There is a light at the end of the
tunnel! Those individuals with personal planets or birth
chart angles in alignment with Saturn in Libra will be asked to attend
to some important soul tests and responsibilities. Personally
speaking, the last time Saturn transited through Libra, I was in college
and studying very hard to complete my degree (My 20 degree Libra Sun is
in my third house symbolizing learning and communication) . It was all well worth the effort. Expect nothing less than success and victories to
