ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING, DECEMBER
2009 IS AN INTENSE MONTH FROM A COSMIC PERSPECTIVE! KEY
ASPECTS THIS MONTH-
We begin the month on 12/1 with URANUS STATIONING DIRECT IN PISCES.
Uranus can facilitate chaos and explosiveness or liberation from
old patterns. As always, expect the unexpected early this month as many
of us continue to flow with the winds of change. Uranus symbolizes
lightning, electricity, technology, intuition, individuality, rebellion and
sudden change. Watch for the FULL
MOON ON 12/2 AT 2:32 AM (EST) AT 10 GEMINI. Gemini is a
social, upbeat, chatty, friendly and busy energy. Gemini is
versatile, adaptable and the ultimate multi-tasker.
There is a mood of restlessness or nervous energy in the air
today. Find time to relax and breathe deeply if feeling scattered
or irritable. This is a wonderful Full Moon to get out and enjoy
intellectual or social activities. SATURN
IN LIBRA SQUARES PLUTO IN CAPRICORN ALL MONTH -
a challenging contrast between restriction (Saturn) and permanent change or
transformation (Pluto). The cardinal signs Libra and Capricorn are
action oriented and assertive, suggesting persistence and hard work are
required to overcome trials and tribulations. Determine what sustains
your equilibrium in times of stress and change as you navigate
additional responsibilities and shifting priorities. Mercury, the cosmic messenger, will align with the
Saturn-Pluto square on 12/7 - 12/8, suggesting the collective mind set is
intensely focused on ambition or issues of power and control.
Conversations are ambitious, serious, methodical and possibly ruthless.
This is a good time to address core strengths and apply intense focus to
duties and struggles with a plan of action. Beware of arguments and
power struggles during this period of time. On 12/13 - 12/14, with Sun square Uranus, expect the
unexpected as surprises and unusual developments may challenge the best of
plans. The Sun ignites Uranus qualities of excitement, rebellion and
rapid change. The only guarantee in life is change! A
NEW MOON OCCURS ON 12/16 AT 7:03 AM (EST) AT 24 DEGREES OF FIERY SAGITTARIUS.
New beginnings are encouraged in all Sagittarius ruled affairs such as
travel, study, exploration, philosophy, religion and exercise or
sports. Sagittarius is fire energy, visionary and optimistic, always
seeking the higher meaning in life events. This is great time to
explore the unknown in our quest for deep understanding. Which house
in your natal birth chart does this New Moon ignite with hope and new
possibilities? This is your monthly power spot to cultivate an attitude
of exploration. On 12/18 - 12/20 (exact 12/19), Venus in Sagittarius
will square Uranus in Pisces, suggesting further changes and surprises in
areas of love, exploration, travel and finance. Venus-Uranus
aligns love and sociability with freedom and originality. Relationships
may be tested by unexpected developments. Positively, this is a
wonderful time to step outside the box in areas of creativity, sociability or
the arts. With a waxing Aquarius Moon, many of us are engaged
in additional socializing during the busy holiday season. MARS,
THE ARCHETYPAL GOD OF WAR, STATIONS RETROGRADE AT 19 LEO ON 12/20 THROUGH
3/10/10, WHEN IT WILL STATION DIRECT AT 0 LEO. Mars,
the planet of bold action, assertiveness and anger, turns retrograde every
two years for approximately 80 days. Mars is not entirely comfortable
when retrograde, as energy and initiative lose momentum instead of forging
full steam ahead. The Mars retrograde cycle has a higher
purpose as it calls upon us to reflect on our motives. May of us
may not clearly understand where our motives are coming from. Mars key
words are: energy, action, courage, assertiveness, warrior, war, temper,
anger, irritability, inflammation and surgery. Beware of tensions as
Mars in retrograde motion internalizes aggressive impulses. Instead,
use this time period to patiently explore inner conflicts and plan or
complete large scale projects. It is best not to implement large scale
projects until Mars is direct. Do not allow frustrating delays or
tensions steer you off course. This too shall pass. If you are
not sure about something, take your time, wait it out and think it
over. It's time to get back to the drawing board and
address our motives and inner demons which may be sabotaging our
relationships, goals or plans. Leo is a fire sign symbolizing
creativity, fun, romance and ego centered drama. Part of this cycle
is also about slowing down and allowing more love, light and
laughter into our lives. Due to the long retrograde cycle, Mars
will spend an average of 6-7 months in one house of the natal birth
chart! Mars will be transiting through Leo for a total of seven
months. Personally speaking, Mars will spend this entire cycle in
the twelfth house of my natal birth chart. It will station direct on my
Ascendant at 19 Leo and move back over my natal Mars and North Node in Leo,
triggering other aspects in my chart. In my situation, the universe
will be asking me to retreat, reflect and work behind the scenes. The
twelfth house also symbolizes deep, soul exploration and spiritual work or
practices. THE
WINTER SOLSTICE OCCURS ON 12/21 AT 12:47 PM (EST)
when the Sun enters Capricorn. Winter Solstice celebrates the
return of the light, the symbolic Sun King. This Winter
Solstice is very unique this year when we consider the rare, TRIPLE CONJUNCTION OF JUPITER, NEPTUNE
AND CHIRON IN AQUARIUS on 12/21. Jupiter and Neptune will align for
the third and last time this year. Together, they represent expanded
compassion, spirituality and humanitarian love and kindness. This
is an auspicious time to reach out and lend a helping hand or volunteer time
and energy to a greater cause. If Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius could
speak, it would ask us to be present with an open heart and have
faith and trust in uncertain times. Jupiter-Neptune symbolizes
pure, unconditional acceptance of what is so. On 12/24 - 12/25, the transiting Sun will conjoin
Pluto and square Saturn, triggering the defensive qualities of this
challenging aspect. Honestly, this aspect is not the best for warm
and fuzzy holidays with family and friends. Sun conjoin Pluto in
Capricorn symbolizes power and a strong will. Sun-Pluto square Saturn
adds a hefty dose of responsibility and commitment. The Sun will either
highlight the struggles and hardships of Saturn-Pluto or it will help
facilitate major breakthroughs. With a fiery Aries Moon, beware of
power struggles which may trigger old, defensive patterns.
My personal advice is: "Stay home for the holidays if that is what
your heart desires. Follow your intuition and go where you feel
peace in your heart. Surround yourself with friends and family who
support you and love you, for who you really are." Venus will next follow the Sun and trigger the
Saturn-Pluto square on 12/27 - 12/29, suggesting more exacerbation of the
above. Relationships will be scrutinized as serious matters unleash
intensity requiring maturity, respect and wisdom under duress.
Venus-Pluto in Capricorn aligns love, values and money with ambition and
transformation. Pluto is the archetypal god of the underworld in
mythology, asking us to embrace psychological death and
rebirth. Positively, we may embrace qualities
of perseverance, tenacity and inner strength if we are facing
hardships of any kind during this holiday season. MERCURY
STATIONS RETROGRADE ON 12/26 THROUGH 1/14/10 IN CAPRICORN.
The three week cycle of contemplation and review is upon us once again.
This time around, we are asked to review and reconsider all Capricorn
matters related to business, employment, our ambitions,
real estate and basically- our structural reality. Take your time and
think things over. It is best not to sign any contractual agreements
until this cycle is over if possible. If there are loose ends in your
life, now is the time to re-evaluate your options and work on closure as we
enter the new year. It's OK to pause and take your time. It is wise to
not rush headlong into areas you may regret later. We end the month and year of 2009 with a FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE AT 10 DEGREES OF During this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, feelings and
emotions are extremely heightened as we begin the New Year 2010. Many
of us may prefer to stick close to home during the New Year
festivities. Many will choose to spend time with close friends and
family instead of going out on the town. Cancer is a home oriented,
nurturing energy. Safety and security are top priorities for
those born under Cancer's sign. Bright Blessings and Happy New Year, Carol Bellis 508-728-4680 |
