ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING, Mars, the red planet of action, desire and
assertiveness, continues its retrograde cycle through March 10 (began
retrograde cycle on December 20, 2009). MARS TURNS DIRECT MOTION AT ZERO DEGREES OF LEO ON
MARCH 10, just days before the Sun enters bold and
courageous Aries, fueling our readiness to move forward after a long cycle of
internalized energy and re-examination of motives and desires. A
Mars retrograde cycle, which occurs once every two years, challenges us to be
more reflective and deliberate as we patiently refrain from impulsive actions
or head on confrontations. Energy is internalized and/or directed into
assessing psychological motives or intangible pursuits. During a
retrograde cycle, large scale projects may experience delays or
obstacles. The cosmic intention is not to annoy us, rather, it is
to inspire us to re-evaluate our personal desires and be honest with ourselves
about our underlying motives. Issues from the past may resurface with a
calling to rework or complete unfinished matters. Careful planning,
subtle actions, contemplation of motives and rest offer us the opportunity to
successfully externalize our plans after a cyclic period of internal
activity. The last time Mars was retrograde in Leo was the year
1995. Leo represents creativity, passion and playfulness. The
shadow side of Leo is false bravado and egocentric arrogance.
Ideally, we have taken some time over the last few months to ask
ourselves a few pertinent questions... "What do
I really want?" or, "Is what I really desire in
alignment with my authentic self?" Expect more clarity and forward
momentum regarding your desires later this month. Obstacles and delays will
start to fall away as ideas, projects and plans get
off the ground and move forward. On another note, we start the month of March (exact
March 3-4) with transiting Venus conjoin Uranus in Pisces. Venus-Uranus
aligns love and sociability with excitement, surprise or chaos. Pisces
is imaginative, compassionate and mystical. We may find that unexpected
surprises, attractions or creative impulses have a spiritual or metaphysical
bent to them early this month. On March 7 (in effect March 3 - March 9), the love planet
Venus enters bold and forthright Aries, followed by Mercury conjoin Jupiter
in Pisces. Mercury (mind set) aligned with Jupiter (expansion,
optimism, exploration) in Pisces is highly suggestive of visionary thoughts
and discussions. Larger than life dreams and big ideas may spark
passions for many of us. With Venus in harmonious aspect to Mars this
week (March 2 - March 9), love and action are very compatible. I often tell my astrology clients that nothing is
black and white in astrology just as nothing is black and white in
life. There are many shades in between, and life presents us with a
mixed bag of joy, happiness, grief and loss. Sometimes, we experience
various states of being simultaneously. On this note, the love planet
Venus will next trigger the ongoing, challenging square between Saturn and
Pluto (March 8 - March 11), suggesting relationship matters may temporarily
prove to be limiting, restrictive or combative for some individuals. As
discussed in previous forecasts, Saturn square Pluto is a cycle of
intentional reform under duress. When we add Venus to the mix, we can
expect all matters of relating to somehow mirror this energy of focus,
discipline and reform, either personally or collectively. Confrontations
between love and power, strong attachments and intense feelings may be
elicited during this time period. Venus in challenge aspect to Saturn-Pluto reminds me
of a movie I recently watched called The Last Station. This film recounts
the last year in the life of a Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy. He was seen
as "a prophet of perfect love", yet he was haunted by the
imperfections within his own personal love life. His longstanding
marriage of 48 years was full of love, passion, conflict and frustration.
As I stated above, love and life are never black and
white. There are many shades of color in between. A
challenging Venus aspect may also be indicative of an enduring and committed
love, evolving and growing in wisdom through occasional conflict and
challenge. The Sun conjoins Mercury in Pisces on March 14, on
the eve of the New Moon in Pisces, uniting self expression with intuitive and
imaginative communications. A
NEW MOON FOLLOWS ON MARCH 15 AT 5:02 PM (EDT) AT 25 PISCES.
This is a very unusual New Moon with five planets aligned in Pisces and
Chiron and Neptune nearby in late degrees of Aquarius - all seven planets
within thirty degrees of each other. New beginnings are infused
with inspiration and devotion. Mercury in close proximity to Uranus
during this New Moon heightens the potential to experience radical
breakthroughs or revelations in regard to Piscean expressions of empathy,
compassion and healing. Expect enhanced perceptions during this special
New Moon cycle. On March 16 (in effect March 10 - March 20), The Sun conjoins
Uranus in Pisces, aligning unique self expression with rebellion,
individuality or disruption. Sun-Uranus symbolizes freedom, lightening
like intuitive flashes and progressive ideas. Uranus always adds an
element of surprise or sudden change to whatever it touches. Be
prepared for the unexpected today! Mid to late March (in effect March 18 - March 25),
both Mercury and the Sun in Aries trigger the Saturn-Pluto square aspect,
suggesting serious and methodical thinking. Discussions may center on
corruption, limitations and reform as tensions call for permanent and lasting
change. During this time period, discipline and determination will
achieve success in the long run. Do not allow burdensome setbacks to
dampen your will. The SPRING
EQUINOX OCCURS ON MARCH 20 AT 1:32 PM (EDT).
The transiting Sun enters zero degrees of Aries marking the
beginning of a new spring season of emerging new life and
vitality. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, and as stated above, Mars
is now in direct motion. We are feeling charged up and inspired.
Just as the earth sprouts new life, our initiative sprouts new dreams. We end the month with A FULL MOON ON MARCH 29 AT 10:27 PM (EDT) AT 9 DEGREES OF LIBRA.
This Full Moon is aligned with the Saturn-Pluto square, suggesting
illumination and fulfillment in areas of relationship, diplomacy, the justice
system and peace are strengthened or deepened with intense focus, inner
resolve and unwavering discipline. Emotions are charged up
and run deep during this Full Moon. Venus enters earthy Taurus on the last day of March
(March 31) - A wonderful time to enjoy the beauty and abundance of nature as
well as create beauty wherever you are. Shimmering Blessings, Carol Bellis 508-728-4680 |
